Iowa State interested in Adrian Golden

Iowa State landed one local commitment (ATH Jarvis West of Gibbs) last week, and now the Cyclones appear very interested in another area talent.

According to Tarpon Springs coach George Kotis, ISU has its eyes on Spongers RB Adrian Golden.

“They’ve been in touch with him for a year,” Kotis said. “Things are heating up. They’ve got a spot they want to fill with a tailback.”

The Tarpon Springs staff sent video of Golden to the Cyclones on Thursday. A decision on whether a scholarship will be offered should come sometime soon.

“I think one way or another, we’ll know something within a week or two,” Kotis said.

Golden has rushed for 928 yards on 98 carries this season.

He touched the ball just once on offense in Friday night’s 44-7 win over Wiregrass Ranch because of what Kotis called a sore hip.

A good fit that could step in and play his freshmen year.
