Bad news for Cobras: James Tello hurt

Posted on Saturday, Nov. 7, 2009 at 12:36 a.m.

The Hudson football team beat Wiregrass Ranch 20-18 on Friday to clinch a spot in the playoffs. The bad news is, the Cobras may be without one of their stars the rest of the way.

According to Hudson coach Mark Nash, standout receiver James Tello sustained a dislocated shoulder Friday. Tello will undergo tests Monday to determine the extent of the injury.

“It doesn’t look good,” Nash said.

Tello has 70-plus receptions this season, which leads all area players.

Against Wiregrass, he had six catches for 93 yards.

“It happened in the first quarter,” Nash said. “He kept playing. Then he took another hit on a catch in the third quarter. He took a shot and he was done.”

Hudson (5-4) has one regular-season game left and then will play at Gainesville in the first round of the Class 4A playoffs.
