CLEARWATER — Johnny Hubbard's 1-yard touchdown run in the final minute lifted Calvary Christian over Lakeland Santa Fe Catholic 23-19.

Hubbard threw 84 yards to Stephen Rice to give the Warriors (4-5 4-2 Class B, District 5) a 10-6 halftime lead. Hubbard was 7-of-11 for 153 yards and added 61 yards on 16 carries.

The Crimson Hawks (5-4 2-4) got a 2-yard touchdown run by Robert Aranda in the third. Calvary scored on its first possession of the fourth, on a 4-yard run by Rice, who had 56 yards on 11 carries.

The Crimson Hawks answered with a 20-yard touchdown pass from Billy Alford to B.J. Knauf with 45 seconds left. But the Warriors marched down the field and got the winner from Hubbard.

Said Warriors coach Chris Rivera: "We played our best game of the year by far.
